was able to overcome this problem with
a nontraditional construction method of
mass excavation first, and then utilizing
the excavated material for the berm, which
kept the water out of the excavation and
allowed APC to move the project forward
by beginning concrete pile installation in a
timely manner.
Cost savings
APC implemented a cost saving measure
by using a rolling pipe template that would
span the entire deadman length, allowing
APC to install all the piles for a deadman
with one template set. This saved a considerable
amount of time with pile layout
while minimizing the cycle time on pile
installation. This resulted in significant cost
saving measures for the client.
