Entries to the PDCA Project of the Year Awards program must be submitted with permission of the principles or officers
of the firm as well as the general contractor or project owner, where necessary. Obtaining any required permissions
is the sole responsibility of the submitter, and a completed entry package to PDCA implies that all permissions have
been obtained.
Project Narrative:
Please answer as many of the following questions that apply to this project, in as much detail as possible.
You may provide any additional information that you deem relevant.
Your answers should be compiled in a Microsoft Word document.
1. What was the pile driving aspect of the project within the scope of the entire construction project? (Please provide
some basic information about the completed structure.)
2. In what way(s) were driven piles the best design solution to meet the needs of the project owner and why were
driven piles best suited to the site’s geotechnical conditions?
3. In what ways was the project challenging, and what were the creative solutions?
4. Did the driven pile scope of work require any kind of special innovation in terms of construction techniques,
equipment and/or materials used? Please describe.
5. Were cost saving measures, such as value engineering, implemented? Please describe.
6. Were there any design changes from other deep foundation or earth retention systems to driven piles?
7. What environmental requirements, considerations or conditions were present on the site, and how were those
mitigated?
8. Why do you believe this project qualifies to receive a PDCA Project of the Year Award?
Photos:
• All entries must be accompanied by a minimum of five (5) high-resolution digital photos. Do not embed images in
Microsoft Word.
• Photos can highlight the progression of the construction process, including the completed structure. Please provide
accurate descriptions/captions for each supplied photo, as well as appropriate photo credits.
Submitting any photo implies to PDCA and Lester Publications, LLC that the necessary permissions to use that
photo have been granted, and that the photo can be used for publication in PileDriver magazine or any of PDCA’s
communications.
By submitting an entry package to PDCA, you consent that PDCA is able to publish any project details or photos in
any of its communications, including PileDriver magazine. t
