C.D. Perry, a general contracting firm based in Troy,
N.Y., got its start in 1936 when Cutler Perry established
his own roadbuilding and construction site
 preparation outfit.
In the decades that followed, C.D. Perry’s services grew to include
major marine construction projects such as the redevelopment of
the Erie and Champlain canals in New York and the building of the
St. Lawrence Seaway. The company also made its mark on the state’s
industrial landscape by constructing paper mills and factories.
Today, C.D. Perry is considered as one of the premier heavy civil,
marine and industrial general contractors and sub-contractors in
New York. It is particularly well known for its expertise in driving
pile, which it has done a great deal of during its many years
 in business.
“We’ve been around for a long time. In the pile driving field,
when a lot of contractors and owners are getting projects off the
ground, they will reach out to us to get our expertise just because
we’ve been driving pile for so long,” said Tyler Fane, general manager
of C.D. Perry. “We’ve built a very good name for ourselves in
the capital district of New York and beyond.”

The Troy headquarters of C.D. Perry is located on the Hudson
River only a few miles from the New York State capital of Albany.
Fane says the company’s market area basically extends out
about a two-hour drive in each direction – as far north as the
Canadian border, south to the edges of New York City, westwards
into the west side of New York State and east into western
 New England.
Fane says C.D. Perry’s pile driving crews are capable of installing
most kinds of pile but the ones they drive most often are sheet
piling, H-piles, steel pipe and timber piles.
C.D. Perry has a large fleet of pile driving equipment that
includes three Link-Belt crawler cranes (80-ton, 110-ton and
200-ton models) and a Tadano Mantis telecrawler crane. The
company also utilizes a number of rough terrain cranes for
 splicing pile.
In addition, C.D. Perry has three Vulcan air hammers, an ICE
diesel pile hammer, an ICE vibratory hammer and a Hercules vibratory
hammer as well as numerous box leads for piling operations.
The company also has an assortment of specialized equipment
and numerous barges that it deploys for marine pile driving work.
