top-quality food, entertainment and golf. Members wanted more
out of our annual event, and PDCA heard their voice. Kudos to
Kathy Harper for quickly adapting to our members’ requests. Next
year’s Annual Conference will be held in Phoenix, Ariz., May 6–9.
The location satisfies another request from members to change
the geographic venue and head west. Mark your calendars for this
exciting event, which will be held at another world-class venue, the
 Arizona Grand Resort.
Another exciting and refreshing change this year has been
PDCA’s aggressive approach towards identifying and growing our
membership. At the print deadline of this issue of PileDriver, PDCA
has increased membership by 67 total new members so far this
year – 22 contractors, 21 associates and 17 engineering affiliates,
as well as an additional seven members across PDCA’s other membership
categories. Kudos to Matt Bisbee on settling into his role
quickly and gaining significant traction on membership growth.
To the new members of PDCA reading this, welcome to the PDCA.

I would like to thank the 2019 Executive Committee, Board of
Directors and committees for their dedication to achieving the
goals we set for ourselves this past January. We should be proud of
all of our accomplishments during this extremely busy transitional
year! I’m also excited to pass on leadership to a new Executive
Committee under incoming president Jason Moore’s direction for
2020. A solid foundation exists for incoming leadership to further
advance the association’s presence as “The Voice of the Driven Pile.”
Since my time as your 2019 PDCA president is soon coming to
an end, I want to take this last opportunity to once again ask all
of you to get involved with the organization as an active member.
We need our tenured members to continue providing feedback
and ideas that leverage both the storied history of the organization
and the concerns of the future. We need our new members to
bring fresh perspective and new ideas to the organization. After all,
the success of PDCA is not possible without dedicated members
 like yourself.
Thank you for allowing me to serve as your PDCA president,
and for your continued support and participation. And finally, one
thing will never change – A Driven Pile is a Tested Pile. t
