of Change

Change. This one simple word summarizes PDCA in 2019. It was the title of my
first president’s message in PileDriver Edition 1 at the onset of my presidency.
It’s the basis of my last message, which you are reading now. Sometimes change
is good, other times it’s bad, oftentimes it’s inevitable.
While we recognized and thanked former executive director Steve Hall for his dedication
and service to PDCA for 14 years as he transitioned into retirement, we welcomed and
empowered our new executive director, Frank Peters, and the energy and excitement that
he brought to our organization. The PDCA staff also experienced change and growth as
we welcomed Kathy Harper, manager of education and events, and Matt Bisbee, director
of member services. With these changes, we relied heavily on Marian McMillin’s history
and experience with PDCA in her role as executive assistant/office manager. Frank and
the entire PDCA staff have worked tirelessly this year to further advance the vision and
mission of PDCA. Please take the opportunity next time you see them to say thank you for
their commitment and for the positive changes they have introduced to PDCA.
Those who attended this year’s 22nd Annual International Conference & Expo at the
Four Seasons in Orlando, Fla. quickly recognized that the event not only included bestin
class pile driving educational content, but it also boasted a world-class venue with
