Treated-wood piles a “greatly
undervalued, underutilized
economic resource”

Koppers Holdings Inc., a
longstanding member of
PDCA, was named in December
2020 as one of America’s Most Responsible
Companies by Newsweek magazine. The
company ranked 178th of 399 companies
on the list, from a pool of over 2,000 U.S.-
based publicly traded companies. Koppers
was recognized by the magazine as one of
the country’s top corporations that “care
about being good citizens and give back to
the communities they operate in.”
Founded in December 1988 and
headquartered in Pittsburgh, Penn.,
Koppers is an integrated global provider
of treated-wood products, wood treatment
chemicals and carbon compounds. The
company’s more than 2,000 employees serve
customers through a global manufacturing
and distribution network, with 39 facilities
located in North and South America,
Australasia, China and Europe.

and CEO Leroy Ball said, “We value our
