“It doesn’t really matter where
you live these days; we can do
our work from anywhere and
easily travel when necessary.”
– Scott Ludlow, Ph.D., P.E.
wherever they are, the pandemic has had zero effect on our business,
and the large underground works, the big transportation
projects seem to have been relatively unaffected.
“We’ve been an engineering affiliate member of PDCA for
quite some time. The association represents a good exchange and
flow of ideas and information. You learn from other people: what
they’re doing, how they’re doing it. I’ve found our membership to
be extremely useful in that sense.”
And what might be coming up in the future? No doubt more
challenges that the SJL team will find ways not only to meet but to
advance the capabilities of deep foundation work.
“Although we may be small in size, we have completed a number
of challenging assignments,” said Ludlow. “We find we can be
selective about what we do and with others that share similar risk
management concerns. Our plan is to stay niche-oriented and
focused on each job. We just want to continue to do our work.” t
