Smith Award Lecture will be presented triennially at the IFCEE conference. The E.A.L. Smith Award Lecture will be presented to an individual who has demonstrated creative and original work that helped the driven pile industry provide an economical, sustainable, effective and environmentally conscious foundation solution. The creativity can be demonstrated in the form of innovative foundation design, manufacturing, installation or construction procedures that led to highly efficient and resource-sensible driven pile solutions. GERWICK LECTURE Thursday, May 13 · 9:30 - 10:15 AM The award is presented annually to an individual, team, or company, and pays tribute to Ben Gerwick, recognizing his innovative spirit and his many contributions to the design and construction of marine foundations. Gerwick had a 62-year professional career as a contractor, educator and construction engineer.
