While challenging, the Daytona Beach
Riverfront Park seawall rebuild was
ultimately successful. Kolb reiterated the
key lesson from this job: “When using
composite piles or vinyl piles, it is critical
to have a clear understanding of your soils
and what is in your driving line. It is worth
the time to clean your line rather than
wrestling and fighting the sheet pile when
it meets resistance.”
The transformation of Riverfront Park
is eagerly anticipated by Daytona Beach
citizens who plan to take full advantage
of the new leisure facility. While once the
vibrant heart of the city’s downtown core,
the park had fallen into disrepair over
the years. Now, it will be restored to its
former glory.
“We always take pride in our work
and can’t walk away from something we

and satisfied,” said Kolb. “This particular
project is important to us since the City
of Daytona Beach was so committed to
making improvements for both locals and
tourists. The city officials we worked with,
along the with the engineers from DMC,

product for the city that people can enjoy
