“We were known to take the jobs nobody else
wanted and the jobs that people didn't believe
you could actually get done. So, figuring those
things out, and fabricating the necessary
equipment sometimes to get those things
done, that was the interesting part to me.”

 – John Skinner
“He believed in the driven pile and the pile driving industry.
He’d say your reputation and your word is all you’ve got, and they
go together. So, when you promised something to somebody,
you make sure that you do it and you do it the best that you can,
and the rest will kind of work itself out. He was as honorable as
 they come.”
 CAREER STORY
Skinner is also thankful for all the friends he made during his
 pile driving career.
“There are some great people at Parker Marine, and I still go
by there and see them once in a while,” he said. “There are a lot of
great people in the pile driving industry all over the country. Here
in Charleston, our competitors are our friends. We work with them.
