Companies of Georgia, he is exactly the
right person to lead the EMC team.
“Our federal projects span throughout
the United States and its territories, while
our commercial and municipal work is typically
throughout the Southeast,” he said.
“One of our most recent pile driving projects
was for a complete culvert replacement
and road-widening of Lane Avenue at
Fort Gordon, Ga. EMC provided PDA testing
on all test piles and provided observation
and oversight during the installation of
140 PSPC concrete piles.”
With a completion date slated for spring
2021, this project and deadline have been
crucial in allowing for a multitude of other
construction projects to be completed at
Fort Gordon as well.
“One of the biggest challenges during
this project was the discovery of three existing
pile-supported foundations supporting
the two 108-inch CMP bottomless culverts,”
said Perry. “EMC performed pile integrity
testing to gain pertinent information
regarding the existing piles and was able to
rework the original culvert design to allow
the new culvert piles to fit within the original
proposed area.”
EMC and its competitors
When asked how EMC Services differs from
its competitors, Perry says the company
offers clients experience, professionalism,
resources and the ability to complete projects
in a timely and cost-effective manner.
“Our growth and sustainability over
42-plus years in the field is a testament
to this management philosophy and our
mission statement: Fostering relationships
through client-centered engineering and
surveying solutions.”
“We joined PDCA because we wanted to be
connected with the pile driving community
to stay updated on current testing and
installation processes, and to network with
fellow testing firms and contractors.”
