This two-hour webinar features presentations from partners at
Jimerson Birr, a construction law firm. The first presentation is titled
You’ve Stopped Getting Paid, Now What?, and focuses on practical
tips and strategies to proactively avoid and mitigate nonpayment
issues on construction projects, from pre-project planning and
contracting, to the construction phase, to dispute resolution. This
includes legal rights and remedies for obtaining payment.
The second presentation, Rights and Remedies Under the
Federal Miller Act, prepares those working on federal government
projects with critical information, including:
• How to know who and what are covered by Miller Act payment
bonds
• How to preserve and protect your payment security rights under
the Miller Act payment bonds in a timely and proper manner
• How to know where, when and how to make a claim on a Miller
Act bond
• What you can recover through a Miller Act claim

Presented by Dale Biggers, P.E., of Boh Bros. Construction and
the chair of the PDCA Technical Committee, this session covers the
history of building codes and the start of the International Building
Code; the process of revising and passing new code language;
and the 23 changes to Section 1810 Deep Foundations for 2018
and 2021.

Nov. 11–13, 2020 – Deep Foundations Dynamic
Testing & Analysis
In-person event!
The Deep Foundations Dynamic Testing & Analysis (DFDTA)
conference will present a one-day seminar titled Deep Foundation
Integrity Testing and Wave Equation Analysis on Nov. 11, 2020. A
two-day workshop titled High Strain Dynamic Foundation Testing
will also be presented Nov. 12–13, 2020. On the third day, PDCA
will offer the Dynamic Measurement and Analysis Proficiency
Test, a 90-minute, multiple-choice exam that will cover the theory
of Wave Mechanics, Case Method (PDA) equations, data quality
assessment, data interpretation and basic CAPWAP analysis.
The DFDTA conference will be held at the Doubletree by Hilton
Orlando Airport hotel and discounted lodging of $139/night is
available for conference attendees. Safety of attendees is PDCA and
Pile Dynamics, Inc.’s primary concern! PDCA and the Doubletree
have safety protocols in place for the well-being of all participants.
Masks are required in the hotel common areas and when social
distancing is not possible; seating in the session room will follow
social distancing standards of 6 feet of space; hand sanitizing
stations will be available throughout the hotel and frequently
touched areas will be cleaned repeatedly; and all food & beverage
