Getting the call
Fast forward a couple weeks and the new
machine, aptly named the “Pile Cutting
Machine” or “PCM,” was almost ready.
Thankfully, Wills got the phone call the
company been hoping for – another pile
cutting contractor was in need of some
backup at the Motiva site and asked
Aggregate to help. Wills and Rogers rolled
out with their PCM in tow.
As they arrived, the Aggregate crew was
excited. This was the job they had wanted,
and it had finally come to fruition. With an
“all in” mentality, they quickly put the new
PCM to use. They were determined to help
these piles get cut faster than anyone had
been able to accomplish before. The operator
was now the only person needed to cut
and remove a pile – he was safely in the
cab, and could cut and remove a pile within
two to three minutes.This job had a serious
time crunch and the contractor needed
piles cut quickly. Once the customer realized
the PCMwas efficiently cutting piles 10
times faster than other methods on site, the
other contractors were called off the job.
Aggregate finished the remaining 10,000
piles – in record time!

This was a turning point for Aggregate
because the company could now offer
something unique to its customers: speed
and efficiency without sacrificing safety.
Yes, saving the customer time and money
was wonderful, but making the job site
safer for the workers was priceless.
It didn’t stop there. Once word spread
about how piles could be cut so quickly and
safely, Aggregate had to eventually meet the
demand by building more PCMs.This patented
machine has cut multiple thousands
of piles all over the U.S.
A leap of faith ended up being a game
changer for Aggregate. The company continues
to look at projects with an out-ofthe
box mindset. They look for solutions to
problems so that pile cutting is the last thing
their customers need to worry about. t
