EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
As we look forward, our interest is to also grow the membership
in the organization. Our very strong belief is that PDCA will
not grow on a national basis but that it will grow locally. PDCA
will be taking a lot of time this year and working very hard to give
companies and individuals the ability to come together around the
common interest of advocating the benefits of the driven pile. The
way that this will occur is that PDCA will take the time and make a
strong effort to plant local chapters.
You will hear us talk about chapter initiatives. This is a building
process and not one where we simply put a push pin on a map or
It is also a strong tenant of
association involvement that we
can do more together than any
one of us can accomplish alone.

throw a dart at a board hoping for something to happen. PDCA
spent considerable time and effort last year researching and identifying
companies that associate themselves with the pile driving
industry. This list was collated by area and the resulting density
map was analyzed to determine the most opportune localities
for PDCA chapters. The PDCA national office chose to start this
chapter initiative process in its own backyard of Jacksonville, Fla.,
where a significant population of pile driving-related companies
were identified. This approach will take a little less time and will
allow PDCA to develop a “chapter planting” process through some
