PDCA REGIONAL ROUNDTABLES
The Regional Roundtable Series
Member engagement, new
member recruitment,
event promotion, information
delivery, new chapter inspiration,
historical recognition in accordance with
PDCA’s 25th anniversary – these are several
of the objectives of the recently completed
PDCA Regional Roundtable Series.
PDCA, like many organizations, has
embraced virtual programming in 2020.
In addition to presenting educational and
professional development opportunities
through webinar format, we have also executed
an interactive, online outreach program
in six American markets identified as
regions containing a large amount of companies
involved in the pile driving industry.
The Regional Roundtable Series kicked
off Sept. 18 in the Pacific Northwest
region; PDCA members and others in
the pile driving industry in Washington,
Oregon, Montana and Idaho were invited
to participate. Those who joined the
program learned of upcoming PDCA
events, important deadlines, new member
benefits, online enrollment features
and chapter information. In the Pacific
Northwest region, participants were provided
a unique segment about PDCA’s
rich history in the area, such as the periodic
Professor’s Driven Pile Institute that
has taken place over the years at Oregon
State University.
The Capitol Region was presented
Sept. 25 to PDCA members and others
in deep foundations from Washington,
D.C., Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland
and Delaware. In addition to the general
overview, this group also heard about the
unique, region-specific history on PDCA
and learned about notable association
leaders from the area, like 2018 president
Larry Moore from GeoStructures and 2019
secretary Karl Higgins of ECS Limited.
Next virtual stop was the Texas region
on Oct. 1, which included all of Texas,
Oklahoma and Arkansas. Notably, as an
important pile driving market, Houston
was one of two cities where PDCA had
scheduled a live informational event in the
spring of 2020, however both were postponed
indefinitely due to the health crisis.
Attendees of the webinar heard the general
update from PDCA, but also learned
about the pile driving contractors from
Texas who have been important leaders of
the national organization.
The other city where PDCA was
forced to cancel a live, informational
event earlier this year was Chicago. The
Midwest Regional Roundtable webinar
took place on Oct. 8 for an audience of
Introducing PDCA across the U.S.
