EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
PDCA would have to pay substantial
advertising dollars to buy the
amount of exposure it receives
when one member wears a logo
t-shirt, pullover or jacket. Quite
frankly, the organization can't afford
that kind of marketing budget.
for each member to help strengthen the industry they work in and
earn their living. We encourage all members to consider joining
a PDCA standing committee. We can't do the critical work of the
association without you. Member participation in PDCA standing
committees is essential.
PDCA members are essential because they provide the first line
of representation to non-members. Association members have the
best opportunity to talk with others who may benefit from joining
the association. Members develop relationships at the local level
due to work performed daily, and these relationships extend to collective
efforts to get people together to solve a common problem or
concern. Building relationships in the industry is a natural extension
of the work we perform, the things that are important to us
and the things that hold our interest. We will naturally tell others
about what is going on in our world, especially those who are likeminded.
It is a big part of who we are, and it is an essential part of
what will help PDCA grow. A member telling a non-member about
their positive experience in the association provides a first-hand
account of the benefits of being a PDCA member.
Anyone else who tries to do the same thing is viewed as trying
to sell something. So, it is essential that PDCA members
provide this important representation to non-members about
joining the association.
We would be utterly remiss if we did not mention the essential
work performed by members who serve as PDCA officers and

those who serve on the PDCA Board of Directors. These members
carry more of the day-to-day responsibility for the operation, direction,
resources and services provided by the association than any
other group.
It is through their dedication, input and time that PDCA operates
on an even keel. Kudos to the PDCA officers and board members
for their essential service to the association.
PDCA celebrated its 25th anniversary this past year. This milestone
is a significant achievement that should make every PDCA
member proud. However, it goes much further than just the passing
of time. It is the member involvement over these past 25 years
that provided the success for the association. Without the meaningful
amount of financial support, program participation and
industry involvement from members, PDCA would not be an organization
today, and there would be no representation for the driven
pile process in the deep foundation industry. Period!
Thank you, PDCA members, for your indispensable support
to the Pile Driving Contractors Association. We honor you in this
message and thank you for all of your efforts to help make PDCA
the association of choice for those who identify themselves with
the pile driving industry. Because of the substantial support and
significant efforts by the PDCA membership, we have the opportunity
to go forward and accomplish great things together that will
benefit the driven pile process in the deep foundation industry.
You, PDCA members, are essential! t
