Willey says Shoreline Steel works primarily with contractors
in the marine construction, deep foundation and transportation
sectors and its products have been used in numerous high-profile
projects, particularly in the Windy City. These include:
•• The Wrigley Field Project 1060 renovation project
•• Redevelopment of the famed Millennium Park Navy Pier in
downtown Chicago
•• Seawall expansion in Chicago’s Burnham Harbour
•• A major shore protection project at Eglin Air Force Base in Fort
Walton, Fla.
In terms of future plans for Shoreline Steel, Willey says his company
is working on building a larger presence nationally, especially
in the southeast and along the West Coast of the U.S.
Shoreline Steel has belonged to the Pile Driving Contractors
Association since June 28, 2001 and was the first steel company to
join the ranks of the association.
“We felt that it was a good way to communicate and network
with others in our industry. From a sales standpoint, the PDCA
gatherings and conventions have always been a great way for us to
come and see a lot of customers and people in the industry, all in
one place,” said Willey.
“It keeps us up to speed on what’s going on with competition,
what’s going on with the types of equipment people are using
and what directions they’re moving in. It just keeps us better
informed and better able to provide our customers with what
they need.” t
