Overcoming
Disaster
When Hurricane Katrina made landfall
in New Orleans in 2005, the office
of Eustis Engineering was damaged
and many of its employees lost their
homes. The geotechnical engineering
firm not only successfully recovered
but is flourishing with an expanded
presence on the Gulf Coast.

For Eustis Engineering, the New Orleans-based geotechnical engineering firm
that’s been providing deep foundation solutions since 1946, a defining moment
in the company’s history was Hurricane Katrina.
The 2005 superstorm and subsequent flooding that wreaked havoc on New Orleans not
only damaged the company headquarters but also many of its employees’ homes.
