SUSTAINABILITY OF THE DRIVEN PILE INDUSTRY PDCA CONFERENCE & EXPO
Dedicated Pile Driver Operator
Written Certification Exam
Wednesday, June 28 – Talbot Room
In November, OSHA will begin requiring operators of
pile driving equipment to be certified by an accredited
certification organization. For many years, the nation’s
leading provider of certification, the National Commission
for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), has
been certifying operators of cranes that have been
equipped with pile driving attachments. But there has
been no certification program for operators of dedicated
pile drivers.
That all changed in December last year when NCCCO
introduced the first ever certification program for
operators of dedicated pile driving equipment. The event
marked an 18-month effort undertaken jointly by NCCCO
and the Pile Driving Contractors Association (PDCA).
PDCA will be holding written exams at the PDCA Annual
International Conference and Expo in Amelia Island,
FL. The exam will take place on Wednesday, June 28,
2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Talbot Room. Exams will be
available for operators of dedicated pile drivers, as well
as operator of cranes with pile driving attachments.
To register for the exam, email Tara Whittington
at twhittington@nccco.org to obtain an advance
application. Registration will be accepted on-site.

dedicated pile driver certification exams are available at
