grown from a local, regional firm with a
specialization in geotechnical engineering
to a national multi-engineering firm
encompassing a broad range of professional
services for developers, public agencies
and Fortune 500 corporations alike. Our
focus is on construction phase engineering
services that are elemental to accomplishing
the three most important objectives
that are crucial to the success of our
clients’ projects: timeliness, cost control
and quality.
Over the past 25 years, the increasingly
stringent building code regulations and
environmental regulatory requirements
have had a broad impact on all types of construction
activities, including pile driving.
Tectonic has embraced the ever-changing
technologies that have become available to
assist the pile driving industry in complying
with the strict regulatory environment that
governs each and every construction site.
Our capabilities are broad ranging, covering
all aspects of construction including
construction management, owners
representative, project controls, special
inspections, third party materials testing,
environmental monitoring, geotechnical
instrumentation and survey layout. We
offer specialized capabilities to the pile
driving industry that can be bundled into a
suite of comprehensive services tailored to
the specific needs of a project. An example
of targeted services includes our capabilities
in geotechnical instrumentation and
surveying to provide a full range of remote
sensing services for vibration control and
structural deformation monitoring during
pile driving by using a combination of
three component seismographs and automated
total stations (ATMS) from our
substantial equipment inventory. Remote
sensing services are offered in conjunction
with pre- and post-construction condition
inspections and reporting that are often
times necessary, particularly in dense
urban environments where pile driving
may impact adjacent structures. We also
perform noise monitoring to meet specific
building code and environmental regulatory
requirements that limit the sound
levels that can emanate from loud construction
activities.
Of course, we still provide the basic support
services that are fundamental to pile
driving including oversight and supervision
of pile load testing, inspection and
documentation of production pile driving
and survey layout for preconstruction location
of piles and preparation of as-builts to
document the final installation. We have
served the pile driving industry for more
than 25 years and look forward to the next
