PDCA PDCA WEBINAR SERIES Don’t miss these two webinar series from PDCA
Amidst the coronavirus pandemic that brought event
cancellations and work-from-home requirements,
PDCA pivoted its education strategy to provide
members and other industry personnel with engaging, informative
webinars. The association launched two separate webinar series:
The PDCA Annual Conference Webinar Series and the PDCA 2020
Virtual DICEP series.

PDCA hosted its first event of the Annual Conference Webinar
Series on Aug. 5, 2020. The event was a success, with nearly 30
attendees and great participation between the presenters and
attendees. Rick Kalson provided a pragmatic discussion of recent
legislation and judicial opinions concerning workplace regulations
and medical marijuana use. This was followed by Dr. Brad Allenby’s
interactive discussion on difficult and ambiguous ethical situations
that individuals and businesses face in the real world, along
with suggested mechanisms that could provide help in maintaining
high standards in a competitive and difficult market.
Sept. 2, 2020 – Dedicated Pile Driving
Certification Requirements
Toya Brown with the National Commission for the Certification of
Crane Operators (NCCCO) will give an overview of the history and
organization of NCCCO and update on recent changes to the regulatory
environment for users of dedicated pile drivers, including the
federal OSHA requirements for operator certification. Brown will
also review NCCCO’s Dedicated Pile Driver Operator certification
Virtual
Education
program and provide details on the process to become certified, as
well as an overview of the written and practical (hands-on) exams.
Oct. 7, 2020 – Working Platforms Update &
Panel Discussion
This presentation will educate contractors about how to establish
internal procedures and policies that will help them to operate
specialty subcontracting equipment in a safe manner without
undertaking a disproportionate responsibility for building
and maintaining safe support conditions under the equipment.
Following the Working Platforms Update, the panel will respond
to questions from attendees. The panel members will also delve
deeper into the issues surrounding working platforms.
