basic core value for the organization won’t
change. We will continue to promote the
pile driving industry as the preferred method
for deep foundation solutions.
During its 25-year history, PDCA has
also provided a means for businesses to
pool their strengths to support issues that
are unique to the pile driving industry. This
has been true on a local, state, regional and
national basis. The phrase “we are stronger
together” can be applied here. PDCA serves
as a natural resource to pile driving-related
questions on policy, code, regulations and
legislation. Providing the information is
one thing, but giving individuals an opportunity
to serve at high levels on issues that
affect their business is the key. This has a
twofold result. The industry receives the
representation and the individual receives
the information. Getting involved in an
organization that represents the industry
is one of the best things an individual can
do who works in that same industry. This is
“hand in glove” at its best! Both are needed.

name cannot provide the advocacy that
the industry requires. We need members
to rally around these opportunities, step
in and shoulder the work. The members,
on their own, cannot perform these acts
in a one-off fashion and be successful. The
member needs the organization to provide
a platform for participation that will
encourage others to be involved in the same
effort. PDCA relies on its members, and the
members rely on PDCA. We will continue
to build on this process to give all members
the opportunity to have important input
into the industry.
There is no question that PDCA has
been providing important education programming
from its beginning. This is a fundamental
need for all PDCA members, and
the effort continues. Regardless of the delivery,
whether by the Annual Conference,
DICEP, DFDTA, the Professors’ Driven Pile
Institute, through the website and now
through webinar presentations, PDCA
will continue its rich heritage of providing
members with education that will inform,
instruct and inspire their work in the pile
driving industry.
