1810.3.3.1 Allowable axial load: This was changed so the Building Official could waive a load test due to local knowledge, such as nearby
load test data on similar piles in similar soil conditions.
1810.3.3.1.9 and 1810.4.1 Helical Piles: The main change was the addition of the shaft resistance for the shaft area above the helices to
the computation of capacity. Helical shafts are increasing in size.
1810.3.4 Subsiding soils or strata: The changes clarified some careless terminology in the current code. t
