Hall says Marczewski’s relentless support
of the association and the pile driving
industry, as well as his recent tireless
and successful efforts to start a PDCA
chapter in the Pacific Northwest, were all
important considerations in handing out
the award.

Pacific Northwest chapter held its first invitation
meeting in Portland, Ore., in April

meetings in Seattle, Washington;
Vancouver, British Columbia; and
Anchorage, Alaska.

already involved in the driven pile industry
out here in the Pacific Northwest,”
said Marczewski. “There’s a big audience
here involved in driven piles and I want
to bring them together. Design and construction
on the West Coast is complicated
with severe wind and earthquake
loading, and we need to collaborate to
be successful.” t
