locally, nationally, and worldwide.
PDCA membership
Garrett joined PDCA in 2008 and has become more active in the
association over the past few years.
“I have benefited greatly from the networking opportunities
with people in the pile driving industry, and also from the many
conferences and seminars provided by PDCA. I am impressed with
the pile driving contractors that I associate with. They are honest,
hardworking individuals who want to provide the best foundation
or earth shoring products to their clients.”
As for what the next few years hold for the piledriving industry,
Garrett doesn’t foresee any changes that are too drastic.
“I believe that the efficiency in the design and installation of
driven piles will continue to improve as engineers and owners gain
more experience. The improvements will come as we share this
valuable experience in papers and conferences, such as the annual
DICEP conference. I also believe that positive changes to the building
codes will be made through PDCA’s and other organizations’
involvement.”
As for his ultimate career goals, Garrett wants to help Gerhart
Cole grow and succeed.
“In fact, right now, we are working on several design-build
transportation projects and pursuit and the Salt Lake City
International Airport Terminal Redevelopment Program that
includes pile driving.”
In his limited spare time, Garrett and his wife, Chante, have
four children – one son and three daughters ages nine to 13 years old.
“We love to camp, fish and hike. Basically, anything outdoors.” t
