PDCA CONEXPO EXHIBITOR
American Piledriving Equipment
All hands on deck for CONEXPO
By Geordie Compton, Construct Marketing
It’s all hands on deck in March in Las
Vegas. Every salesperson from American
Piledriving Equipment (APE) will
be present at CONEXPO to meet and greet
clients from all parts of the globe.
“APE puts a major emphasis on
CONEXPO as a prime opportunity to
meet existing clients and take advantage of
the opportunity to learn what their experience
has been with our equipment,” said
Steve Cress, APE’s vice president. “That’s
a different conversation than you can have
in a trailer or on the job site, and we
always walk away
from CONEXPO
wiser than when we
arrived.
“We love meeting
new customers
too,” he added.
“CONEXPO is, as
anyone who’s been
will tell you, the
heavy construction
industry’s opportunity
to look, listen
and learn. This isn’t about selling equipment.
It’s about being present to customers
and being better at what we do.”
APE’s reputation as a contractor’s
equipment supplier bears itself out over
the four days at CONEXPO, where the
team invites all deep foundations contractors
to “kick the tires,” welcomes the hard
questions and the opportunity to help solve
project challenges.
“What other event offers contractors
the chance to have a whole team of equipment
experts work out some stubborn
issue?” said Cress. “We live for that.”
Yet another world record
An upcoming project in China is
sure to be abuzz at CONEXPO.
APE is contracted to best their previous
record for the world’s largest
pile driver, topping the eight-vibro
“OctaKong,” with a 12-vibro version,
the “DodecaKong.” Manufacturing
for this massive equipment is already
underway in the Kent, Wash. factory
with delivery set for early 2017. By
CONEXPO, this monster innovation will
be underway, driving 30-meter (nearly 100
feet) diameter piles, smashing the current
world record pile size by over 35 percent.
HD Drivers
At CONEXPO 2014, APE debuted their
HD Drivers line with an excavator mounted
HD70. In addition to its capability to install
high-strength HD piles, the HD system
can accommodate all kinds of foundation
installation equipment, with CFA attachment
and down-the-hole hammer attachment,
providing contractors great versatil-
