event specifications, site selection, contract negotiations, acquisition
of program content, marketing and advertising strategies,
event registration and payment issues and any other requirements
to successfully support PDCA events.
Debbie and I will also be working on the 2017 annual conference.
At this time, the conference is planned for July 2017 –
this date is selected to give our exhibitors some breathing room
after CONEXPO. The venue is tentatively being planned in
northeast Florida near Jacksonville. More information will be
provided as it becomes available.
Exciting news about PileDriver magazine
Another exciting change is PDCA’s new contract with Lester
Publications. Starting in 2017, PDCA and Lester will publish
PileDriver six times annually, as opposed to the previous
quarterly schedule. PDCA is excited to bring this change to
our members, but wants to remind everyone that the editorial
content is largely the responsibility of PDCA. This means that
PDCA will look to our members to submit or participate in
articles like member profiles, project spotlights, features, technical
articles, safety articles and other relevant subjects dealing
with driven pile.
It is important to remember that you can submit as many
articles as often as you’d like and, as always, at no cost. The
opportunity to submit an article is a member benefit and comes
with your membership in PDCA. As I have mentioned on several
occasions, if you don’t have someone who handles your PR
or marketing, let PDCA know and we will assign a professional
writer to assist you in creating the article – and again, this is at
no cost to you. Promote your company, projects, products and
services through PileDriver magazine and get recognized by
end-users in the pile driving industry.
IFCEE 2018
PDCA is back again as a managing partner for the International
Foundations Congress and Equipment Expo (IFCEE) in 2018.
This mega-event will be held at the Buena Vista Palace Hotel
in Orlando, Fla. March 5 to 10. A “call for papers” has gone out
and additional opportunities for presentations will be identified
in upcoming PDCA correspondence.

I would also like to sincerely thank the PDCA Board of
Directors. It has been my honor and privilege to work with this
distinguished group of individuals. From the strategic planning
session in January to today, they have represented PDCA with
the utmost professionalism and a sincere focus on how to make
PDCA a better organization.
And, finally, to all of you who have supported PDCA with
your membership, voluntary service, articles, ideas and participation
at so many levels, I cannot say enough about you, the
PDCA member. I have often said, “PDCA is your association
and it is a reflection of your commitment and dedication to its
success.” After 20 years, YOU have made this organization a
success. As we move into our next year of operation, I look forward
