PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
PDCA has a box full of tools that
could benefit your organization, including
seminars on dynamic pile testing and pile
installation, noise and vibration data to aid
in pile installation in sensitive areas and
– soon to come – the NCCCO certification
for dedicated pile driver rig operators,
using equipment like the Junttan, PVE
and Liebherr dedicated piling rigs. PDCA
will also be introducing a dedicated rig
preparatory course for those interested in
taking the written exam for dedicated rig
certification. All of these tools and more
are offered to PDCA members to become
part of your company’s toolbox for use by
you and your employees.
Looking back 20 years, none of these
opportunities existed, but through organizations
like PDCA, modern techniques
are available to help the small and large pile
driving contractor work through a difficult
project, or the small or large vendor get
into the larger marketplace.
And the toolbox is not full yet! PDCA
is developing a new program to complement
or replace the Professor’s Driven Pile
Institute with a program for engineers and
contractors. Here, engineers and contractors
will meet, discuss and work together
on real-time pile driving issues and solutions.
All this is part of PDCA’s effort to
promote the driven pile as the premier
deep foundations solution.
I ask all the members of PDCA to talk
to your brother and sister contractors, suppliers
and engineers about the tools in your
toolbox that are there thanks to PDCA.
