PISCSALKO ATTENDS WHITE HOUSE FORUM
The White House National Economic Council, Office of Science
and Technology Policy, and Office of Management and Budget
invited Pile Dynamics, Inc. (PDI) president George Piscsalko, P.E.,
to the White House Forum on Connecting Regional Innovation
Ecosystems to Federal and National Labs.
The forum, which took place on Nov. 3, 2015 in Washington,
D.C., explored leading and innovative models of technology transfer.
Senior administration officials, directors of federal and national
labs and state and local leaders all participated. Piscsalko was invited
because of PDI’s partnerships with laboratories, universities and
technology transfer offices.
PDI has partnered with NASA Glenn Research Center as
part of the Strong Cities, Strong Communities effort of the White
House's Office of Science and Technology Policy, has had a strong
ongoing relationship with Case Western Reserve University and
has collaborated in research with Cleveland State University.
The conversation at the Forum focused on how regional
partnerships with labs can commercialize R&D; how opening up
Federal assets can sharpen the capacity of small businesses; and
how partnerships with labs can complement place-based policy
frameworks and regional cluster strategies that aim to capture the
economic opportunities of innovation in advanced industries.
Based in Cleveland, Ohio, PDI develops, manufactures and
commercializes quality assurance and quality control systems for
the deep foundations industry. The company has a strong research
