In today’s highly competitive economy, B&M
Marine Construction knows what it takes to
separate itself from the competition.
It’s common in the construction industry for
contractors to hire subcontractors to perform certain
aspects of a project. B&M prides itself on utilizing inhouse
resources on all types of marine projects – from
residential docks, large commercial marinas and rock placement
to seawalls, dredge and filling and foundation piling.
A licensed marine and general contractor for more than
30 years, B&M Marine originally started as BK Marine.
“Our family business started from my father,” said Chris
Bryant, B&M’s treasurer, who started working at BK as a teenager
and learned the trade through his father. “I earned my general contractor’s
license and finished school at the University of Miami and
then went back to work for BK.”
It was in 2012 that the four BK owners decided to form a new company
– B&M Marine.
Today the company has 50 employees and two locations. With headquarters
in Deerfield Beach, Fla., and a second location in Boynton Beach,
Fla., the corporate structure includes vice president Pat Bryant, treasurer
Chris Bryant and secretary Matt Woonton.
“Our marine division services all of Florida – from Jacksonville to Key
West, and east to the west coast of the state,” said Bryant. “I believe the success of
our company is that we are all pile drivers and dock builders. We all had to start at
the bottom and work our way to the top. We have been installing pilings for a very
long time and everything we have learned, we teach to our employees.”
B&M Marine Construction prides itself on being the most adequately stocked
marine construction company in the South Florida area.
“We own and maintain our own force of work equipment, which means clients never
have to worry about the extra cost of renting machinery,” said Bryant. “This also means that
we always have the correct equipment for the job.”
In addition to owning and operating its own fleet, B&M maintains these machines and
employs two full-time equipment mechanics to ensure all machinery is never out of order for any
substantial time period. The following is just some of B&M’s in-house equipment:
