All entries will be displayed at the PDCA 20th Annual
International Conference & Expo 2016, May 17–19, 2016 in New
Orleans, La.
Sophistication of the presentation is not part of the judging,
but completeness in addressing each of the criteria outlined in this
form is essential.
General Requirements
The competition is open to all PDCA associate and engineering
affiliate member projects completed on or before December 31,
2015. Entries must be submitted with the permission of the principals
or officers of the firm or owner. The dollar category for project
entries is based solely on the dollar volume of the piling contract.
Entry categories include land and marine based projects.
Every entry must include:
1. A completed entry form. The form is on the following page,
or you can download and print one from the PDCA website,
www.piledrivers.org.
2. The entry fee. $175.00 per project must accompany entry
form.
3. A project narrative. The narrative should be a maximum of
1,500 words and accompany your entry form to explain, in reasonable
detail, why the project should receive a Project of the
Year Award. It should also include how the entry meets five or
more of the following criteria:
••Meeting the challenge of a difficult job
••Innovation in construction design, materials or equipment
••Unique design applications and/or considerations
••Construction problems and creative solutions – design, materials,
equipment
••Cost saving measures – design, materials, equipment
••Design changes from other deep foundation or earth retention
systems to driven piles
••Other distinctions that support your project as a PDCA
Project of the Year winner

you must also supply the original Microsoft Word document.
4. Project photos. Your project narrative must be accompanied
by a minimum of five high-resolution project photos that
showcase the pile driving aspect of the work being completed.
Photos should highlight the construction process, including
the finished product and pile driving/project progression.
These photos have an accompanying document explaining
each photo. Photos will be used in the Project of the Year video
prepared for the annual conference as well as in PileDriver
magazine, so they should be accurate representations of the
project and a reflection of your company’s commitment to
quality. If you have questions about submitting photos and file
formats, please contact the PDCA office.
How to Submit
All entries must be submitted as an electronic copy. Entries
may also include letters of recommendation, list of accommodations
earned, media and web coverage or other supplemental
material as you feel appropriate.
