Bosmajian, president of McLean’s Contracting
Company, brings 30 years of experience in
heavy civil construction with him
George Bosmajian has over 40
years’ experience in structure and
machinery design. He has over
30 years’ experience in heavy civil construction
and construction management
in the heavy/marine/bridge construction
industry, working for McLean Contracting
Company. As president, he is responsible
for overall management of all construction,
equipment, estimating and engineering
activities for McLean. He is responsible
for oversight of all project administration,
project scheduling, claims negotiation,
project cost/revenue analysis and communications
with the owner and owner’s
representatives. He also works closely with
the estimating department to develop bidding
strategy on upcoming projects and to
coordinate labor and equipment resources
for future projects.
Bosmajian previously held the positions
of vice president/chief engineer, contract
manager, equipment manager and
estimator with McLean. In his capacity
as vice president/chief engineer he
was responsible for company-wide planning
and oversight of McLean’s construction
operations, including equipment and
labor resources. As contract manager he
was responsible for project specific CPM
scheduling and analysis, liaison with
the owner, project cost/revenue analysis
and claim reviews, subcontracting and
purchasing. Bosmajian managed various
types of projects including bascule bridge
and railroad bridge construction, container
crane and conveyor line erections,
long span/fixed bridge construction and
design/build projects.
Prior to his employment with
McLean, Bosmajian was employed for
over 12 years as a design engineer, field
engineer and estimating manager with
Ellicott Machine Corporation. Ellicott
Machine is a major, worldwide designer
and manufacturer of hydraulic dredges
and dredging machinery. As a design
engineer he was responsible for the design
of dredge pumps, hull structures, hydraulic
winches and hauling gear. As a field
engineer he was responsible for on site
start up and troubleshooting of new and
existing equipment predominately in
South America and the Far East.
Bosmajian received his Bachelor of
Science degree in ocean engineering from
Florida Atlantic University in 1973 and his
EIT certification in 1973. He received his
M.B.A. with a major in finance from the
University of Baltimore in 1982.

includes installation of all types of driven
piles including concrete cylinder piles (up
to and including 66 inches in diameter),
steel pipe piles (up to and including 72-inch
diameter and in excess of 200 feet long),
steel and vinyl sheet piles, square prestressed
concrete and timber piles. t
