and Motor Vehicles,” “Ports Authority,” state supported transportation
research programs and much more.
This resource has now been transferred to the “Members
Only” site on the PDCA website. Again, for a username and password,
PDCA members can contact the office for assistance.
As with IFCEE 2015, PDCA continues to collaborate with
organizations that share a common interest with PDCA and the
pile driving industry. Recently, PDCA was contacted by ASTM
International to partner with them on the 10th International
Conference on “Stress Wave Theory and Testing of Deep
Foundations” conference in June 2017. The conference will be
held in Lowell, Mass. at UMass. PDCA is currently working on
the conference details with representatives from ASTM to finalize
the partnership agreement. PDCA believes this collaborative
partnership and conference will be beneficial to PDCA members,
providing technical information through general session presentations,
exhibitor opportunities, engineer/contractor/supplier/manufacturer
networking and building a greater relationship between
the members of PDCA and ASTM.
PDCA 20th Anniversary Annual Conference & Expo
The PDCA 20th Anniversary Annual Conference & Expo will
tentatively be heading to New Orleans, La. in May 2016. This
year, the conference format will change somewhat from previous
programs and is designed to maximize everyone’s time at the conference.
Some of the traditional events will include general session
presentations, but in 2016, the PDCA Education Committee will
send out a call for presentation topics, allowing all PDCA members
to submit a brief summary for consideration as a conference presentation
during the general sessions. The “Call for Presentations” will
be sent as soon as the Education Committee establishes a conference
theme.
PDCA will also establish a panel to develop and judge a student
project. The panel will develop the project criteria and distribute
the project to students through the PDCA/USUCGER Joint
Council. Students will respond with an application to participate,
present and support their findings to the panel and a winning team
will be selected. PDCA will make a general scholarship donation to
the winning team’s institution.
PDCA staff announcements
Finally, PDCA says goodbye to Jessica Fasanella. Jess is moving to
Maryland at the end of August. Jess has served in several capacities
at PDCA, starting as an administrative assistant and culminating
as the PDCA programs manager. PDCA wishes Jess the best in her
future endeavors.
Replacing Jess is Holly Graham. Holly is a graduate of
the University of Florida where she obtained a B.S. degree in
recreation, leisure and event management. Holly has worked
in the event management field for the past nine years, recently
with the Ponte Vedra Beach Resort. Holly brings a unique perspective
to her new position, having been on both sides of event
management and planning – as a client and as a resort/venue
manager. Please help me in welcoming Holly to the PDCA family.
You can call Holly at 888-311-7322 or send her an email,
