River, approximately 20 km downstream of the port in the town of
Yurimaguas in the province of Alto Amazonas (High Amazon).
Phase 1 infrastructure improvements include the following:
•• Construction of the new pier with two berths. The pier will
span a length of 120 meters with a width of 12 meters.
•• Construction of one passenger berth is approximately 10
meters long
•• Construction of a roof covered storage area (approximately
6,092 square meters) for general merchandise
•• Construction of a roof covered storage area (approximately
600 square meters) for the processing and handling of perishable
goods
•• Construction of a container storage yard with an area of 7,994
square meters
•• Construction of a water-retention structure located upstream
from the pier
•• Construction of administration and service buildings
•• Construction of a vehicle weight station
•• Construction of storm drainage, water treatment station,
sewer station and power generator station
Phase 2 of the project includes:
•• Improvements to the pier – increasing its size by an additional
docking station of 60 meters in length and 12 meters wide
•• Widening of the general cargo storage area by 5,628 square
meters
•• Increasing the container storage area by 6,977 square metres
The contractors on this project – Construccion y
Administracion S.A. (CASA) and Hidalgo & Hidalgo S.A. – were
awarded the contract in April 2011. Both companies have been
