PDCA’S INCOMING PRESIDENT
There is a competition from other foundation sectors
and we want to position ourselves to be the part of the
industry that people come to first for solutions.
– Eric Alberghini, Incoming President, PDCA
ket. As such, he brings a considerable skill set to the national
piling organization.
“PDCA wants to level the field and create greater standardization
with things such as recommended specifications that
would include realistic tolerances for the pile driving sector,”
he said.
He suggests that the goal here is to create efficiencies that
are not burdensome.
“There is a competition from other foundation sectors and
we want to position ourselves to be the part of the industry that
people come to first for solutions,” he said, adding that part of
the mission of the association is to reach out and discuss goals,
needs and capabilities with regional, state and national groups
such as the Federal Highway Administration.
“On a personal level, I have been pleased with my tenure
at PDCA. I know my area of the country, but by being in the
association I have been given a greater opportunity to learn
about things like the characteristics of differing geographies
in other parts of the U.S. I have also been able to learn about
other companies around the country and how they are taking
on challenges.”
Is there room for improvement? Always, says Alberghini.
“I think PDCA has done an excellent job of targeting both
short and long-term goals and there are many things we do well
at PDCA, but as we move forward there will always be challenges
and fresh directions. As incoming president, I hope to continue
the momentum of my predecessors, furthering the goals we have
established and taking on new challenges as they arise.” t
